Product Features
Power System Alerts:
Talon ESCs are programmed to sound a number of tunes and codes using the motor as well as flashing LED patterns to alert users to certain conditions regarding their power system, such as over temperature, excessive load and locked head speed.
Telemetry Capable:
Telemetry has the potential not only to improve the safety of our models by monitoring battery voltages, ESC temperature, and other critical parameters, but it also creates other opportunities to get even more fun out of flying because you've essentially reduced the risks of "unknown" inevitable crashes. Think of the benefits to be had from alarms that will sound to warn you when there's interference about or if your receiver battery is running unexpectedly low. Requires purchase of Castle Telemetry Link for S.BUS2 (Item # P-CC010-0152-00) and compatible Futaba Radio or Castle Telemetry Link for X-BUS (Item# P-CC010-0148-00) and a compatible Spektrum Radio.
Programmable:
Fully programmable Castle feature set using Castle Link USB adapter and freely downloadable Castle Link Windows software.
With the Castle Link USB Programming Kit you can use your WindowsT PC to easily program your controller. Castle Link includes all code for all Castle Link compatible hobby products in one convenient download. Note: Castle Link software requires a Castle Link USB Adapter and a computer that is running Windows. Castle Link is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. Macintosh users may take advantage of software such as Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or Apple's Boot Camp along with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10 to run the Castle Link software, provided the Macintosh has an Intel processor. Macintosh installation is not supported by Castle Creations.

Why is the Castle P-CC09700 ideal for 500–600 class helis and aerobats?
The Castle P-CC09700 high-output ESC for 500–600 class helis and aerobats up to 10 lbs is built to handle high-demand flight systems with precision and stability. Its 90A continuous current rating and 25.2V max voltage support aggressive throttle profiles and sustained power delivery. The ESC’s compact dimensions (80mm length, 43mm width, 18mm depth) and lightweight design (84.5g) make it easy to install in tight spaces without compromising airflow or cooling. Whether you're flying high-speed aerobatics or maintaining rotor stability in a heli, the Castle P-CC09700 provides the control and responsiveness needed for confident flight.
How does the selectable BEC improve system compatibility?
The Castle P-CC09700 with 9A continuous BEC, 25.2V max voltage, and LED alert diagnostics features a user-selectable BEC output of 6V or 8V, allowing pilots to tailor voltage delivery to match servo specifications. With a 20A peak and 9A continuous output, the BEC supports high-draw digital servos and onboard electronics without requiring external regulators. This integrated power solution simplifies wiring and reduces weight, making it ideal for compact aircraft builds. The default setting of 6V ensures safe startup, while the 8V option unlocks full performance for advanced servo systems.
What is direct entry governor mode and why does it matter?
The Talon 90 ESC with direct entry governor mode, telemetry link compatibility, and 3S–6S LiPo support includes Castle’s industry-leading helicopter control feature: direct entry governor mode. This function allows pilots to set and maintain precise rotor head speeds without relying on external governors or complex programming. By stabilizing RPM under varying load conditions, the ESC improves flight consistency, reduces mechanical wear, and enhances responsiveness. This feature is especially valuable for 500–550 class helis where rotor speed control is critical to performance and safety.
How does telemetry support enhance flight safety?
The Castle ESC for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft with USB programming and firmware updates is telemetry-capable when paired with Castle Telemetry Link modules for S.BUS2 or X-BUS systems. This integration allows pilots to monitor ESC temperature, input voltage, and receiver battery status in real time. Audible alerts and LED diagnostics provide immediate feedback on system health, helping prevent unexpected shutdowns or crashes. Telemetry data can also be used to fine-tune flight profiles and identify performance bottlenecks, making the Castle P-CC09700 a smart investment for safety-conscious flyers.
What makes Castle Link programming essential?
The Castle P-CC09700 aluminum-case ESC with 5.5mm motor bullets and Castle Link programmability includes a coupon for a free Castle Link USB adapter, giving users access to Castle’s full suite of programming features. Through the Castle Link Windows software or iOS app (with B-Link Bluetooth Adapter), pilots can adjust throttle curves, BEC voltage, and governor settings. Firmware updates are available at no charge, and users can save multiple setup profiles for different aircraft. The intuitive interface and demo mode make it easy to explore features and restore factory defaults when needed.
How does the Castle P-CC09700 simplify installation?
The Castle high-output ESC with 84g weight, 80mm length, and 5.5mm motor bullets is designed for straightforward integration into heli and fixed-wing platforms. It includes three 5.5mm male motor bullets to match the pre-installed female connectors, ensuring a secure and efficient power interface. Battery connectors are sold separately, allowing users to select components based on current requirements. For motors with stiff wires, Castle recommends using flexible silicone extensions to prevent stress on the ESC terminals. The innovative case design promotes cooling even in enclosed mounting locations, supporting reliable operation across diverse flight environments.
For pilots seeking a compact, high-performance solution with advanced control features and telemetry support, the Castle P-CC09700 Talon 90 ESC with 20A peak BEC, 6S max input, and telemetry support delivers exceptional value and reliability. Buy Castle P-CC09700 Talon 90 ESC for 500–550 class helis and 6S aerobatic aircraft.
