What makes the Castle P-CC10400 ideal for high-voltage aircraft?
The Castle P-CC10400 high-voltage ESC for 550–700 class helis and giant scale fixed-wing aircraft is built to handle the power demands of advanced flight systems. With a continuous current rating of 120 amps and support for up to 12S LiPo batteries, this ESC delivers consistent performance under full throttle conditions. The absence of an internal BEC ensures that receiver and servo systems remain isolated from motor power, reducing electrical noise and improving reliability. Measuring 83.6mm in length and weighing just 148.8g with wires, the Castle P-CC10400 fits comfortably into fuselage compartments while maintaining efficient airflow for cooling.
How does telemetry enhance flight safety and control?
Telemetry is a critical feature for pilots operating high-performance aircraft, and the Castle ESC for 3S–12S LiPo setups with no internal BEC and full telemetry compatibility delivers robust support for real-time data feedback. When paired with Castle Telemetry Link modules for S.BUS2 or X-BUS systems, users can monitor ESC temperature, input voltage, and receiver battery status during flight. This data helps prevent unexpected shutdowns and allows pilots to respond to system alerts before they escalate into failures. The telemetry system also supports audible alarms and LED indicators, providing immediate visual and acoustic feedback on power system conditions.
Why is the AUX wire functionality so valuable?
The Phoenix Edge 120HV ESC with RPM output, governor gain input, and arming lockout key includes a white AUX wire that unlocks multiple advanced control options. Pilots can use this wire to adjust helicopter governor gain mid-flight, output RPM data to compatible gyros, or activate an audible beacon after an unexpected landing. Additionally, the AUX wire can be configured as an arming lockout, preventing the ESC from activating until a designated receiver channel exceeds 50% signal. This feature adds an extra layer of safety during setup and transport, ensuring that the motor remains inactive until the pilot is ready to fly.
How does data logging improve post-flight analysis?
Data logging is a powerful tool for pilots who want to optimize their aircraft’s performance. The Castle P-CC10400 programmable ESC with data logging, AUX wire, and Castle Link USB access records key flight metrics such as RPM, voltage, and current draw. These logs can be reviewed using Castle Link software, allowing users to identify inefficiencies, diagnose faults, and fine-tune throttle curves or governor settings. The ability to store and analyze flight data is especially valuable for competitive pilots and engineers who require precise control over every aspect of their aircraft’s behavior.
What programming options are available for the Castle P-CC10400?
Configuration flexibility is a hallmark of the Castle programmable ESC with 50.4V max voltage, no BEC, and Castle Link USB access. Users can program the ESC using the Castle Link USB adapter (included via coupon) and the Castle Link Windows software. For mobile access, the ESC is compatible with the Castle Link iOS App and B-Link Bluetooth Adapter. These tools allow pilots to adjust throttle response, AUX wire behavior, and telemetry parameters. Firmware updates are available at no charge, and users can save multiple setup profiles for different aircraft. Manual programming via transmitter stick is also supported for basic adjustments.
Is the Castle P-CC10400 suitable for aerobatic and rotorcraft platforms?
Absolutely. The Castle P-CC10400 Phoenix Edge 120HV ESC with 120A continuous rating, 12S max input, and telemetry support is optimized for both aerobatic fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft in the 550–700 class range. Its compact form factor and lightweight design make it easy to install in tight fuselage compartments, while its high-voltage capacity ensures consistent power delivery during aggressive maneuvers. The combination of telemetry, data logging, and AUX wire control gives pilots the tools they need to manage complex flight profiles with precision and confidence.

- For orders above £120, we offer delivery to most mainland UK addresses. For orders under £120, we can still deliver to Northern Ireland and the outlying isles, as long as the item can be sent by Royal Mail, weighs less than 30kg, and fits within 61cm × 46cm × 46cm. Some highland and remote areas may carry an extra delivery charge as couriers often apply surcharges in these locations. If you live in one of these areas, feel free to contact us before ordering so we can confirm the delivery options and costs for you.
- Most of our products include delivery in the price. If your order is under £90, a small delivery fee will apply but do not worry this will always be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.
- Depending on what you choose at checkout, your order will usually be delivered either the next working day or within 2 working days. For next day delivery please place your order before 2:00pm. Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday only. Some items may take a little longer and if that is the case we will always show the expected delivery time on the product page.
- If your order includes items with different dispatch times we will normally wait and send everything together once all items are in stock. If one of the items is going to take a while we will give you the choice either wait for everything to arrive or let us send the available items now and deliver the rest later. It is up to you.
- We use trusted delivery partners to make sure your order gets to you safely and on time. We use DPD for next working day deliveries and Royal Mail for the 2 day option.
- As soon as your order is on its way we will send you a tracking number by email. If you provide your mobile number at checkout we will also send delivery updates straight to your phone so you can keep an eye on progress.
- If a product is marked as "Dispatched within 3 working days" delivery usually takes around 3 to 5 working days from when your order is placed.
- For customers in Inverness and other parts of the Scottish Highlands deliveries can take up to 2 working days even if you select next day delivery as couriers do not currently offer a guaranteed next day service to those areas.
