How does the Castle P-CC12700 handle extreme current demands?
The Castle P-CC12700 with 50.4V max voltage, 241g weight with wires, and 108mm length is built to deliver uninterrupted power under the most demanding conditions. Its 160A continuous rating ensures consistent performance during extended climbs, rapid throttle transitions, and high-load maneuvers typical of 700–800 class helis and giant scale aircraft. The integrated cooling fan, rated for 4.8–7.4V, actively regulates ESC temperature, preventing thermal shutdown and preserving component integrity. This combination of raw power and thermal management makes the Phoenix Edge 160HVF a reliable choice for pilots pushing the limits of their airframes.
What benefits does telemetry integration provide?
Telemetry transforms the Castle ESC for 3S–12S LiPo setups with no internal BEC and full telemetry compatibility into a real-time diagnostic system. Compatible with Castle Telemetry Link modules for S.BUS2 and X-BUS platforms, the ESC provides live feedback on voltage, temperature, and receiver battery status. Audible alerts and LED flash patterns notify users of system anomalies such as over-temperature, excessive load, or locked head speed. These alerts allow pilots to respond proactively to changing conditions, reducing the risk of mid-flight failures and enhancing overall flight safety.
How does the AUX wire enhance control and safety?
The Phoenix Edge 160HVF ESC with RPM output, governor gain input, and arming lockout key includes a white AUX wire that expands the ESC’s functional range. This programmable line can be configured to adjust helicopter governor gain mid-flight, output RPM data to compatible gyros, or serve as an audible beacon after an unexpected landing. The AUX wire also supports arming lockout, preventing motor activation until a designated receiver channel exceeds 50% signal. This feature adds a critical layer of safety during setup, transport, and maintenance, helping prevent accidental motor engagement.
How does data logging support performance optimization?
The Castle P-CC12700 programmable ESC with data logging, Castle Link USB access, and fan-rated 4.8–7.4V includes onboard logging that captures RPM, voltage, current draw, and system alerts throughout each flight. These logs can be reviewed using Castle Link software to identify inefficiencies, diagnose faults, and refine throttle curves or governor settings. For pilots focused on continuous improvement, data logging provides actionable insights that support iterative tuning and precision calibration across flight cycles. This capability is especially valuable in competitive or experimental builds where performance margins are critical.
How can users configure the Castle P-CC12700 ESC?
Programming the Castle P-CC12700 HV ESC for 700–800 class helis and giant scale aircraft with telemetry and AUX wire is supported via the Castle Link USB adapter (included via coupon) and Castle Link Windows software. Mobile access is available through the Castle Link iOS App and B-Link Bluetooth Adapter. Users can adjust throttle response, voltage cutoffs, and AUX behavior, save multiple setup profiles, and access all future firmware updates at no charge. Manual programming via transmitter stick is also available for basic field adjustments, ensuring flexibility in both workshop and field environments.
Why is the Phoenix Edge 160HVF built without an internal BEC?
Excluding an internal BEC allows the Castle programmable ESC with active cooling, no BEC, and Castle Link USB access to support external voltage regulation systems tailored to specific receiver and servo configurations. This design reduces onboard complexity and enables the use of high-voltage components that operate outside standard BEC ranges. For advanced aircraft builds, external regulation offers cleaner power distribution and greater flexibility in component selection. The absence of a BEC also contributes to the ESC’s reduced weight and compact form factor, aligning with the needs of performance-focused installations.
Is the Castle P-CC12700 the best choice for high-voltage aircraft?
For pilots operating in high-voltage environments where sustained output, intelligent monitoring, and thermal stability are essential, the Castle P-CC12700 Phoenix Edge 160HVF ESC offers a compelling solution. Its active cooling system, telemetry integration, and programmable safety features make it suitable for aggressive flight profiles and precision maneuvers. The compact design supports installations with strict space and weight constraints, while the data logging and AUX functionality provide tools for both safety and performance optimization. The Phoenix Edge 160HVF is engineered to meet the demands of serious flight operations with confidence and control.

We want to make sure your delivery goes smoothly, so here are some important details about our service:
- For orders above £120, we offer delivery to most mainland UK addresses. For orders under £120, we can still deliver to Northern Ireland and the outlying isles, as long as the item can be sent by Royal Mail, weighs less than 30kg, and fits within 61cm × 46cm × 46cm. Some highland and remote areas may carry an extra delivery charge as couriers often apply surcharges in these locations. If you live in one of these areas, feel free to contact us before ordering so we can confirm the delivery options and costs for you.
- Most of our products include delivery in the price. If your order is under £90, a small delivery fee will apply but do not worry this will always be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.
- Depending on what you choose at checkout, your order will usually be delivered either the next working day or within 2 working days. For next day delivery please place your order before 2:00pm. Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday only. Some items may take a little longer and if that is the case we will always show the expected delivery time on the product page.
- If your order includes items with different dispatch times we will normally wait and send everything together once all items are in stock. If one of the items is going to take a while we will give you the choice either wait for everything to arrive or let us send the available items now and deliver the rest later. It is up to you.
- We use trusted delivery partners to make sure your order gets to you safely and on time. We use DPD for next working day deliveries and Royal Mail for the 2 day option.
- As soon as your order is on its way we will send you a tracking number by email. If you provide your mobile number at checkout we will also send delivery updates straight to your phone so you can keep an eye on progress.
- If a product is marked as "Dispatched within 3 working days" delivery usually takes around 3 to 5 working days from when your order is placed.
- For customers in Inverness and other parts of the Scottish Highlands deliveries can take up to 2 working days even if you select next day delivery as couriers do not currently offer a guaranteed next day service to those areas.
