Overview
Like every component in the Spektrum™ Smart ecosystem, Avian™ Smart ESCs combine "plug-and-play" simplicity with the ability to communicate with other Smart electronics - together, creating the best-performing RC system for your aircraft imaginable.
Avian Smart Air ESCs do much more than regulate power. They function like a virtual engineer inside your model, providing a direct path to the vital operating data you need to reach peak performance. Avian Smart Air ESCs give you an extra layer of confidence that your electronics are all operating at their best.
With Avian Smart Air ESCs, you'll be better connected to your aircraft than ever before - without installing extra components that all work independently of each other. You won't need extra wires, modules, or links. An Avian electronic speed control provides a one-wire solution for obtaining telemetry data such as current, voltage, cell balance, temperature and RPM.
Avian ESCs not only gather the data but also send it to your transmitter in real time, instead of only storing it for after-run study. You're able to adjust settings as needed to boost performance on the go. The Avian Smart single-wire telemetry solution has been tested for quality and performance by the best brands in RC. Their verdict? Smart technology is both simpler and superior!

Why is the Spektrum P-SPMXAE1200HV ideal for extreme flight platforms?
The Spektrum P-SPMXAE1200HV brushless HV ESC for giant-scale aircraft with Smart telemetry and thrust reversing is built for serious power delivery. With 200A continuous and 300A burst current capability, it supports oversized motors and aggressive flight profiles without compromise. Its compact 89mm length and 13.3 oz weight make it suitable for tight fuselage compartments, while the IC5 input connector ensures secure, high-current battery integration. Whether you're flying aerobatic giants or scale helis, this ESC provides the muscle and control needed for top-tier performance.
How does Smart telemetry improve flight monitoring?
Smart technology transforms the Spektrum digital ESC with 300A burst current, 10A BEC, and on-screen programming via Spektrum transmitter into a real-time diagnostic hub. Through a single-wire connection, the ESC transmits vital data—current, voltage, temperature, RPM, and cell balance—directly to your Spektrum transmitter. This eliminates the need for external sensors or modules, reducing weight and simplifying setup. Pilots gain immediate insight into system health and battery status, allowing for proactive adjustments and safer flight decisions.
What benefits does thrust reversing offer?
Thrust reversing, available on the Spektrum P-SPMXAE1200HV Avian 200A Smart ESC with 6S–14S LiPo support, IC5 input, and 32-bit ARM M4 processor, adds a layer of control for ground mobility and landing management. With a Smart-compatible transmitter and receiver, users can reverse motor direction instantly, enabling smoother taxiing and braking on the runway. This feature is especially valuable for large aircraft that require extended landing distances or operate in confined environments. Activated through ESC parameters, thrust reversing enhances realism and safety without requiring additional hardware.
How does the ARM M4 processor enhance responsiveness?
At the core of the Spektrum P-SPMXAE1200HV air ESC with 200A continuous current, 300A burst, and adjustable 10A BEC is a powerful 32-bit ARM M4 processor. This advanced chip architecture delivers high-resolution signal input and precise motor output, resulting in smoother throttle transitions and improved flight dynamics. The processor also supports complex telemetry functions and real-time data handling, ensuring accurate feedback without latency. For pilots seeking maximum control and responsiveness, the M4 processor is a key contributor to the ESC’s performance and reliability.
What programming options are available for field adjustments?
The Smart ESC for 600+ class helis and fixed-wing platforms with one-wire telemetry and firmware updates offers multiple programming methods to suit different pilot preferences. Throttle stick programming allows basic adjustments without extra tools. For more detailed configuration, the Smart ESC Programming Box provides a user-friendly interface for on-site tuning. Additionally, the SmartLink USB application enables firmware updates and parameter changes via PC. These options ensure that pilots can adapt their ESC settings to match flying conditions and performance goals with minimal downtime.
How does the heat-dissipating design support long-term reliability?
The high-performance air ESC with heat-dissipating design, overload protection, and dual BEC connectors is built to withstand the rigors of HV flight. Its thermal management features prevent overheating during extended operation, while dual BEC connectors ensure stable power distribution to servos and receivers. The switch-mode BEC delivers adjustable voltage to match system requirements, and overload protection safeguards against electrical surges. These features combine to deliver consistent performance and long-term durability in demanding flight environments.
